Mine's a VFR800 VTEC 2003, with Remus cans, heated grips and 29K kilometers on the odo. I sold my Lapis Blue Metallic VFR750 1997 to take up this Italian Red coloured baby. It wasn't the hi-tech that grabbed me ( the dual brakes, the VTEC, etc, ). It was 'da looks, and the V-four of course. How's the love affair so far ? ... Well, I'm still startled by the looks. And becoming increasingly impressed with the hi-tech ( except fuel injection ? - see below ). Tho' acceleration and handling is superb especially in the twisties with the tacho well past 7000 rpm. But a couple of things I'm still getting used to : Two Remus cans just don't quite sound as angry as the single Neptune ( world-class NZ manufacturer ) on my former Lapis Blue ( had 112Km's on the dial when I sold her ). Fuel economy is the thing that I'm still getting used to ie much LESS fuel economy. The 22 litre tank will get me over 300km ( I think ), BUT I've gotta find gas nearby real soon by that stage ( haven't put it seriously to test, yet ). Hate putting up with that flashing fuel light - distracting. Yet the 750 would have taken me much further. No prob. ... another 50 Km or so on her tank ( similar size tank I think ? ) In a week or so I'm going to put the VTEC on a dyno, learn what that might teach me. Has anyone done similar with one of these models ( and care to share anything - did any significant learnings arise ? ).
i dont think many have put there bikes on a dyno.but this winter i will be doing a b4 and after dyno run.gonna do one run stock, and after i get may stock cans reworked.well good luck with ur bike:target:
In a weeks time 'm going have a Power Commander III installed and a custom mapping done. The custom mapping requires dynamometer sensors to take readings from the exhaust gases ahead of the cat. converter and other paraphanalia of the complex VFR exhaust system. Apparently the custom mapping takes some hours to achieve. Hopefully I'll have some before / after PCIII readings too  .
