    1) Easter in County Mayo Ireland walking with a mate
    2) Going to the Le Mans 24 with my stepson. Last time I went was about 30 years ago  Wonder if I'll survive
    3) Ride from home to Isle of Skye (461 miles) - just because I want too and will be the biggest ride for me so far
    4) Going to US for my 50th Birthday. On the AmTrak Empire Builder train from Seattle to Chicago and then drive to NY

    Cool

Just hope the "Big Announcement" at work coming up this week does'nt put us all out on the street!

Wow thats quite a list, and good luck with the "big announcement".

I really hope you will be taking the VFR over to Mayo and Le Mans, as you will quickly realise there are plenty of awesome roads to try out - just take care at milking time with cattle on the road! If you do end up with time to kill, then you may be interested in joining the UK group heading for a long weekend in Sankt Wendel in Germany at the end of May. Here's my list for this year

A track day at VIR (Virginia International)

    Moto Gp at Laguna Seca

    Moto Gp at Indianapolis

But the really big plan is for 2011, will try to do WSBK Estoril then Moto Gp in Valencia. Something I have been wanting to do

As you say, I hope no "big announcement" interfere.

I agree ref Mayo, we went last year as well and most of the time I was wishing I was on the VFR

However, when we go to Mayo there will be four of us and for Le Mans, my Stepson is about 6' 11" so I don't see him being folded up on the VFR for a total of 8 hours each way.

Plus for Le Mans we will be taking barbeque, beer, burgers, jacuzzi, ghetto box, etc. and I'm not sure of the legality of some of the various trailers some of our US cousins couple up to their VFRs in the UK/Europe

So it will the comfort and power (?) of a 1.9 TDI Octavia Estate for those 2 trips.

The Octavia is a very solid load lugger - I know I have had two, and will definitely allow you to take all those home comforts. But the roads in the West of Ireland are empty and are crying out for the howl of a VFR, you are going to be kicking yourself again. If there are four of you, what could be better than heading over on four bikes, fit them all with panniers and share out all those vital supplies, and no trailers will be needed (OK the jacuzzi may be a challenge). Fair enough 6'11" is mighty tall and I can see he may need something rather larger than a VFR - the Blackbird is not a bad choice and can probably keep up, and of course you can always rent them. As for Le Mans, I am very jealous, I've been thinking of going for years. However every year French TV shows the whole area gridlocks for days either side of the 24 - the only thing moving are the bikers and helicopters. Once you get away from the circuit there is stunning countryside to enjoy so dont bother with the peage roads.

Not good then, have survived 4 rounds of retrenchments since early 2009 but then the work load doesn't drop so more is just spread across those lucky enough to remain... :frown:
