thats all good and well but unless you have the ignition barrel to match the ECM then it still wont spark, assuming your bike being a 2000 model it should have HISS on the ignition system, can you confirm this, if it has HISS it will say so on the ignition were you put the key in around the barrel, if its a pre-HISS model then that will be fine, just plug and play, hope its the later for your sake or you just wasted your money

What makes you think there is a problem with the harness that you curently have on the bike? Are you not getting power to the fuel pump at its connecter now?

I have parted one of these out and done some wiring repairs on gen 5 , they are a little on the busy side as far as wiring goes. I have this same thing happen to me from time to time and just in the last month as well, I was sure all was well but after banging my head against the wall had to back track and triple check wiring connections. Not just insure they were correct but hat the pins were undamaged and still locked in the plugs. Last one got me for a bit of time and it was a pin that slipped out of the plug when I connected it and only found it with a close visual inspection.

This might be a long shot, but when I changed out my thermostate and put the throttle bodies and gas tank back on I somehow twisted the fue line and put a kink in it so no fuel got thru. It took a while for me to figure this out and the fuel pump made its noise and the bike turned over it just won't start. The kink wasn't noticed until I started to take the tank off agian.

The engine stop relay is under the seat...connector colors are black/white, black/pink, black, and red/orange.

Really, the easiest way to troubleshoot this might be to go directly to the ECM connector, unplug it. Find the black/white and solid green wires. When the key is turned on and the handlebar stop switch is in run, probe the connector carefully for VDC on those wires (positive to black/white, negative to solid green). If you have it, it verifies all the fuses, bank angle sensor, the engine stop relay, and all the associated wiring, and you can begin to look elsewhere (fuel pump, neutral or kickstand switch, etc.) If not, verify via continuity if the solid green is providing a ground to the ECM, and begin working your way back to the stop relay, etc. to see where you're losing power.
