The universe is 14 billion years old. I think its ridiculous that we celebrate the passing of just one year. That's like having a fucking parade every time I take a piss...

The universe may indeed be 14 billion years old but us mortal humans are only on this planet on average about 75 years. And sometimes those 75 years are not the most quality of years either. So we should celebrate each year that does pass our way and reflect on what is most important in our lives.

People value things differently in their lives. Some value years, family and/or friends. Some value their pisses. To each their own I say. Maybe someone needs a hug?
