since most of us are VFRW members, we should keep the VFRWORLD in the slogan. i change my vote from GeorgiaRider (sorry) to kd4ysi's VFR WORLD southeastern rally. good on ya tony :rockon:

 

how about a bunch of good folk getting together to have fun on some of the best roads in gods great land

your suggestion for the gathering has merit but we'll let the attending VFRWORLD members vote. we'll list all the slogans on 1/31/10 then all votes must be in by Friday, 2/5.

I get up that way several times a year and can lead a group ride or two if anyone is interested.

I'm really considering coming out. Although CA riding is the best "all around riding" that it gets, I've been riding these roads for 15 years now. (little board) 33hrs and 56 min to you, according to the map sites. $h!t, that's only 2 17 hour days, or 3 <11.5 days. I have the time, but looking at costs for shipping my bike to one of you cats out that way and flying in and riding home. That would save me 2-3 days of vacation time at least. I have followed every Deal's Gap thread on this site since 2007. Come on, somebody lay some peer pressure on me.

 

It's fun to ride in NC, but it's not the best place in the universe. Not sure it's worth all that unless you have a lot of money and time. It's about as far away from CA as you can get. I would recommend flying out, renting a dual-sport bike like a KLR650 and spending a week in the area, then flying home. I can give you some advice on places to check out if you like.

Careful on shipping bike heard bad things there. Good things also so just shop around if you go that route.

I am 13 hours away and going to try like heck to go & meet some of the Southern "GENTELMEN".
I stared a WNY thread to see if I can drum up some wny riders to make the trip with me. So get off your butt and start making the plans to meet me at Deal Gap...

I know if I can make the trip those "SOUTHERN GENTELMEN" will show me a good time.

hey TylerSC, glad you're coming. sure you can lead a ride :nod: ! i've planned a route that will take us east of the ksl. my wife and i will ride the planned route (prolly march) to determine time and mileage. i'll pm you after we ride my route and if you can improve on it, all the better. how about you and i do a route and the north ga riders take day 3? as to your comment regarding the iron horse, i selected the ksl because i've never stayed anywhere else. i met fred (deceased) shortly after they opened the ksl. my wife and i fell in love with mo, fred and the ksl. we meet the greatest folks there and have made friends at the ksl. not to take anything away from the ironhorse, but i'll be willing to bet that you'll have a good time at the ksl. :rockon:

 

calling north ga riders! can you guys (gals) lead one of the rides down into north ga? i've only been down 60 from 64 and done the wolfpen gap :first: loop. i'm sure y'all know additional rides. anywho, can we count on ya? we may have to impress a california dude (joey, take note). if y'all can lead a ride from the ksl down into north ga, we'll have at least 3 days of different rides (me and TylerSC leading days 1 and 2).
