hey everyone, as you probably can tell im new here. just wanted to stop by and say hi. i just picked up a 1984 vf1000 and i am very excited to get some work done and get it back on the road. i have search the net for a bit and am having a hard time finding many places that sell aftermarket parts and accessories for my bike. if anyone could shoot me some links to places i would greatly appreciate it. oh yeah pics will be coming soon.

definately by then. im shooting for on the road in march, but we will see. is this a vfr exclusive gathering? if not my bro and his wife might want to come.

 

The more the better. As you will find out on this board it doesn't matter what you ride...as long you ride and have a good sense of humor. That being said I'm going to let my roommate ride my vfr down and I'm going to ride my rc51. Can't wait to meet you, your bro and his wife!

greetings jeff5150 and welcome to the forum. as comicus mentioned previously, there will be a gathering in stecoah, nc 5/31-6/4 (check out link provided by comicus). you might have success with older bike parts by viewing the 1st/2nd generation site as well as mechanics garage. incidentally, i'm from chattanooga so it's great to get another east tn rider aboard.

as to this being a vfr exclusive, hell no! comicus will have his rc51 :rockon:, my wife will be on her (inferior) triumph sprint :noidea:

you'll find there is no aftermarket for these bikes the best place to look is ebay & craigslist.org or Daugherty Motorsports - Motorcycle Suspension Performance and Modification jamie has done alot with these bikes and carries a great passion for these bikes, he has also revalved all my suspension. depending on the riding your do i would suggest gettign your suspension over hauled. check these guys out for jetting Factory Pro: Producers of the EC997 Low Inertia Eddy Current Dynamometer Series and Quality MC performance products have'nt ran there kits yet but will be soon..you have a great bike! throw some pictures up lets look at the old girl of yours
