Hey fellow vfr riders. I wanted to know if any of you have installed led lighting on you vfr's. I am interested in changing my tail/brake lights with led's and i am also thinking of putting on one of those piaa lights or light bulbs to see better at night. Can you guys give me some feed backs on these products and weather i'm wasting my money on this? thanks!

I tried them in my bike's tail light but was disappointed with the brightness and light spread so I'm back to bulbs...

This is an excellent forum for HID and LED lighting. If you're looking to build anything LED, this is an amazing resource. I've found the people on here extremely helpful when I tried to build my own LED tail lights for my Nighthawk. In the end, I didn't install it in the bike becaues it wasn't as bright as I had hoped but I also think I could have built it with more LED's also to make it better.

Yup, I think the other thread has all the details about LEDs not shining light BACK into the reflector so the net effect is a loss of light power. I had them in my truck but gave up...they were invisible during the day! I think the thread also discusses the few lights that DO have rearward firing LEDs as well as the front. In any case, I say leave your regular bulbs in and GET HYPERLITES! (They are those 8 or 16 LED light unts that fire up in additon to your break lights. They have versions that flash, don't flash, have running light and/or turn signal capabilities. etc. They are EXCELLENT and cagers really do back off! I have em on both bikes. I also have their front facing white LED version called Hyper-Brights. Check out the website...I think it is simply hyperlites.com)
