I would need much more information before I can answer. How many miles a year? what kind of riding? will you be doing some of the work yourself or all shop?

2008 VFR ABS, riding 2-3K miles a year. Just touring around, not to aggressive. Most if not all of the work will be in the shop. I thought about changing the oil if theres nothing special involved. How about synthetic oil? Thanks!

The breaking service about $100. $70 of it will be the oil change.
2 to 3K a year you wont have much cost at all... Most of the work doesn't happen until you hit 16K then the cost go up. with plugs and valve checks. Synthetic oil is great and if you plan to change the oil yourself which is easy, will cost you about $38. If you change using regular mineral oil, cost will be lower. 2-3K a year will mean only one oil change a year which you should do whether you hit the change interval or not. Acid builds in the oil and is bad for seals. The OEM tires SUCK but if you are not getting too fancy, they will do OK and will last you first two years. Brakes done by the shop will cost $500-600 depending on the shop labor costs etc ABS may add more. The parts to do brakes are pretty cheap but 5-7 hours labor at $65-95 adds up. Your first year's cost will be LOW, second year much the same. under $100 if that. Just gas and go. Eventually, a coolant change will cost you some bucks unless you do it yourself.

I give you a year on this site before you are doing most of the work yourself and probably already modifying your bike. Windscreen , seat, tires, air filter, etc

One thing to look out for as well, are the off 8,000 mile intervels. Meaning that the 4,000 mile, 12,000 mile, 20,000 mile etc. services are not a big deal, where as 8K,16K, 24K, and 32K are a big deal. If you're having your dealership do the sevices they will of course charge you for everything. If you look at your manual there is much that even a non-mechanic can accomplish at the off 8K tunes. Such as checking bolt tightness, mirror adjustability, Kickstand tension, and so on. My approach has been to look at the manual during those times and address everything I possibly can (especially the overtly simple things) and have the dealership do the rest. You'll find yourself saving money if when you goto a dealership you tell them specifically what items you need completed, rather than going in and saying "I need a 4K or 12K full service."

As the others have said, its gonna be cheap. Most of what you will have to do will just be tires and oil changes. Its the 16/32k miles that are the big ones. Right before I got mine, the PO had done the 16k service. It was ~$750 with a coolant flush. You won't hardly be spending a thing to keep her on the road.
