rode the VFR to Tehachapi, Lake Isabella, Inyokern, Randsburg, Mojave, and back home, over the weekend, weather was in the low forties leaving and coming home, 55 in the picture of the dash leaving Randsburg, but it was clear and sunny.
its difficult to portray the size of the windmill blades, till you see one on the back of a train car, they weigh 12 ton.

pinning the little 750, ok 800, it easily got to 140, I'd have to work to get 150 out of it. bike is smooth at speed, but will judder at 4k in high gear. best to just downshift and rev it out.

I raised the handlebars after removing the circlips, and I'm looking into what handlebars I can mount to make them higher and farther back, some aftermarket tapered aluminum with clamps might be the result. anyone do that yet?

cold and snowy outside now, glad I went for a ride over the weekend. After reading how some of you put your bike away for 6 motns in the cellar, I feel lucky in that we can ride all year round here in so cal.

Maybe I'm wierd, but amongst all that beautiful countryside, I see $3.39 a gallon. Only $1.10 more a gallon than here.

what I am most impressed about is the lack of trafic anyware!!! Great roads and beautiful scenery, AWSOME. I love Florida for many reasons but motorcycling is not one of the states strongpoints other than year round riding.

that gas price, is not indicative of 'cheap' gas price. that particular spot is out in the middle of nowhere, and I got caught out not getting gas halfway, so I stopped there to not go past 230 miles on the VFR, riding buddy was already on reserve and I didnt know if we would make it to cheap gas 40 miles further. cheap gas is now at $2.75, more commonly $2.85 here where I live. it did snow today.

I live in Lake Hughes, just west of Palmdale. so its a short hop across the desert floor past willow to jet up tehachapi willow springs road, to get up there, the caliente bodfish, and across to randsburg, and back home thru silver queen road / backus road. about 250 miles, but took 6 hours looking at the cows, talking to the birds, and watching the B2 fly around.

Joe, please take a ride about every two weeks and post up more pictures. With the insurance cancelled and the bike tucked away like a black bear in hibernation I will need a "Fix" about that often!

Thanks for letting me remember what sunshine looks like!

    Know how you feel.

When I go out to Ablinene and Midland, west Texas, they're always flying the B1's around. Very cool.

I'm jealous of the year round riding. I like the old post office, that was good. I also noticed in one pic you were close to empty - hope you didn't have to push.
