Welcome to the party! As you've probably noticed from this site; there are darn few messages along the line of, "Gee, I wish I'd bought something else."

I got my Red 07 this last August and love it. I was sitting on a RWB in the bike shop two days ago. (No, not trading. I was trying on some bike pants and wanted to see if they fit properly when sitting on the bike.) Pictures don't do the RWB justice; it's much more handsome live.

What's the rest of the story? How long have you been riding? What bikes have you owned prior to arriving in the promised land?

Best of luck with the new bike; I bet you won't be disappointed.

mestoo, thanks for the reply and you are right, I have found very few regret posts! As for riding time and bikes I have been riding for 28 years and have had; 650 nighthawk, 700 nighthawk, RZ-350, VTR1000, Aprilia Tuono (hit a deer with this one), Aprilia Futura (still have), and finally the Interceptor. I took the bike on my favorite road (Yarnell, Skull Valley, Bagdad Arizona) yesterday and grinned from ear to ear the whole time.

Yeah, mine had been sitting in a garage for about a decade so I just couldn't stop dumping money into her. Then she had an unfortunate meeting with another Honda (cager) shortly followed by joining me in my unfortunate meeting with the pavement. But it all worked out cause now I've got my Viffer:thumbsup:

My college buddies and I were just talking about that bike! "We" had one in college. There were a ton of bikes in our frat house and this one had been left behind by a graduating brother. It became the house workhorse. Errands, bad weather, just because, teach new riders etc.

It actually assumed this grand place in the house because the thing would not die. None of us remember winterizing it or covering it or even doing things beyond one of us changing the oil (but not the filter) when changing the oil on one of our bikes.

It had been painted green by someone at some point. Albeit with a a paintbrush. Someone used a primer as it was spilled on the engine cases but why the use of primer and then painting with a paintbrush, I will never know.

The thing was indestructable and fired up like a champ even after a long winter outside.

One of the new rider wannabes wanted to learn and I was teaching him. There was a big parking lot next to a creek so we rode down there. I was showing him clutch engagement point while he was sitting on the bike. The goal was feel clutch engagement point, feed in a bit of throttle and get used to to that. Next thing I know, the tach shows about 5k and the clutch was dumped. Off goes Nick, feet flailing behind, left touching then right touching as the beast wobbled down straight towards the creek with me in a state of shock!

He finally dumped it before hitting the curb which would have launched him into a grassy downhill area leading to a creek.

He just jumps up like nothing happened while engine was running, wheel spinning, and gas spilling out of the tank.

We talk about this one to today!

Thanks for the welcome and hope to see another viffer on the road. I went to Gila Bend today on old 80. Trying to burn through the break in miles so I can get the service out of the way. If it were warmer I would hit Kingman as well.
