Imagine that! People of all ages are riding. I have been riding since 76 when I was 11. At times I got caught riding in the street to be punished several times over and over. Eventually my parents sold my bike but by then I had pals that had bikes that I could borrow and be chased by the local sheriff.

When I grow up one of these days, I will use four wheels and geritol to get around.

Like you, I rode buddies bikes here and there to get into trouble here and there. When I had saved enuff to buy one - I asked my Dad - "can I buy a motorcycle?' He wanted no part of that and said "hell no!" Well, what's a determined foole gonna do? I bought one anyway and stored it at a friends house. One day my dad found out - oh he was pissed! That was the only event in my early teens where he beat the hell out me.

Well Legs I would like to say there are advantages in getting older but to tell the truth I can't think of to many off hand. You just tend to know more about the shit that can happen.

    jetts_lm - good looking bike!
I had one just like it back when I lived in Europe in the '80's. Great commuter and a lot of fun on the Autobahns! I liked to work on it 'till once I had the carbs off and dropped a main jet into the intake tract, and it lodged between the valve and seat (they're brass and non-magnetic). I won't disclose how I got it out.

Hey can a gal get in here?? I started riding when ladies were thought of as "bad girls" if you rode a bike. And I was, for a time...LOL But that was in the '80's. Now I'm a grandmother of 7, and ride like a teenager!!

We will never get old, as long as we ride!

You remind me of Bert Monroe, A Kiwi who went to the Salt flats in the mid sixties after he had retired. He set a number of land speed records on an old Indian motorcycle he pretty much rebuilt by hand. He still holds one record today. They made a movie about him called The Worlds Fastest Indian. It was never in wide release but you can rent it. For motorccyle nuts its well worth a look. Pretty inspiring guy.

Are you kiddin? That movie is very popular over here with motorcycle enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike. very fun movie to watch. It really has you rooting for him by the end. He was quite the ladies man, too. It's a real hoot.

Oh, since I went off topic I'll veer back into the right lane... I have been riding around 30 years and have owned around a dozen bikes both on and off-road.

Been riding 23 years starting at 10 with a honda ct70 that I ended up bringing home to Japan in 1989. It stayed there with a dealer who was interested in the novelty of a bike that crossed the Pacific twice. Took my MSF course on base there at 17. I've been riding mostly small bikes till now.
I hope to ride this one for the next 23.

I started riding in November '99.

I'd been using public transport to get to wherever I needed to go, but the lead up to the 2000 Olympics changed things. There was a lot of work being done on the train network, with busses substituting for trains fairly frequently. When you only have 12 hours between shifts to get home, eat, sleep & then get back to work, the last thing I needed was extra travel time.

A friend was a instructor for a bike training company, he convinced me to have a go. And I'm still riding...
