Anyone know of a good source for the "quick screws" quick release fairing fasteners? Both the dealer and ronayers.com want nearly $9 for one screw and one nylon washer "retainer".
Seems aweful steep for a bolt and washer...
I've heard some discussion related to Dzus fasteners, but don't know how they actually compare.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

    yup

Yeah, i was quoted that kind of price too. I needed like 10 (i wanted a couple spares) and he told me how much they were going to be and i was shocked. I didn't get them because i'm hoping that i can find a place for cheaper ones. Anyone have any suggestions or are we stuck with the high prices?

Try Service Honda 1-800-828-5498 they are always cheaper than the dealer though I only needed 4 still was sorta pricey, I belive they were $6 but what's a guy to do. I didn't find anything else that would work with out redoing the other half of the fastner and that was even more of a project, so I figured this was not the time to be a cheap scape. beside its my VFR and it's worth it.

I think ProBolt markets 1/4 turn kits. Not sure if there's a specific VFR set, but there may be a good cross-over from another bike.
The black plastic faseners can be had at any auto pannel store and I've even seen them in the fastener bins at Lowes.

Ahh, That's great Vlad, I've seen proBolt before but didn't dig deeper than a $51 screw set.;-).
I'm really interested in a dzus fastener set though so I'll take another look.
Those plastic panel fasteners seem to be a pretty much throwaway item good thing they're cheap!
    Thanks again

    Plastic fasteners

In the specialty fastener bins at Lowe's home improvement stores there are 5mm plastic 2 piece fasteners made by Hillman. They are 2 in a pack and cost $1.09. Make sure you gety the 5mm size; the 1/4" ones won't fit without reaming the holes a little but the 5mm ones are plug and play.
