    Hi,

I bought a second hand vfr 800 fi-y 2000 model and have noticed that the length of the fork above the top yoke is 44mm and the manual says standard setting is 39mm, will the extra 5mm make my front wheel steer very quickly as mine feels like it is and if I put them back to the recommended 39mm will I still be able to fit Genmar 19mm bar risers

Bars on mine were dropped right down to the top yoke- i put them back up to standard- nice and comfy-steerings responsive! Don't know about the genmars- not very sporty imo!

Forks raised in the triple tree will most certainly make it turn in faster and why yours feels so nimble.

As far as the genmars, I can't say... but you can most certanly give it a shot. It will not hurt anything to give it a try. At most you'll just waste some of your time and you'll have to go back to where it was before.
