Are you able to get it off the bike at all or is it frozen
to the rotor? If its not frozen to the rotor, take it off
the bike be sure to have a catch can for the break
fluid. Then you should be able to use a C clamp to
squeeze the pistons in. Or you could take them to a
    shop at that point.

I'm not familiar with that caliper. Is it two piece,
if you look at "mini vfr" thread you can see my
fronts they are two piece meaning the inner and
outter come apart. My rears are the same way.
Do yours come apart. If so, you should be able
to break them town to nothing bit small bits. If
not then I would see about taking them to an
ole time break shop. Not like a quick lube.

If your going to be doing that much work on it
I would get a book for that model. No way will
you do a proper restore on any of these without
some book smarts if you have never done it. I
am the same way, NEW GUY. Best way for me
to learn this bike it to take it apart. lol

    im trying my best

my sister husbund is looking as we speek for the manual, he had the bike sitting for 4 years, he went out west to alberta and left it, so when he cam back i got a great deal for it ($1000), but im not doing a full restore if that makes any sence, i had to sand blast the frme because of surface rust ,also painetd er gto blue with a white frame and rimes, that was the only major thing that i had to do, once i get the front and rear sproket and chain and battery, we are going to start er up.
the bike is not seized thank god, it was stored properley so no worries there, she will just need a major tume up, i have a web site if you like to check it out, i do have lots more pic as i was going along but they are not all on the site

the site is about me and everything

I don't know about Olive Oil, what about brake cleaner solvent? Nasty stuff, but might do more than Olive Oil.

I would also second the idea of taking it as apart as possible.

I also don't know if $1,000 bucks for a 23 year old bike that isn't currently rideable, or at least stopable, and with rust, is a good deal
