First time posting on this forum. Just wanted introduce myself. So far I have found this community to be a wealth of info and good advice. I bought (month ago) a red 1998 VFR 800 with 3800 miles on it. Everyday the temperature is over 45 degrees (NJ rider) I am riding. Love this bike! I just ordered a new Sargent seat based off of the positive great reviews I read here. Well hello and thanks for all the great future advice. Lou
Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the low milage 98(Red being the fastest color!) Post some pics when you can...
Welcome. I am sure you will enjoy the bike and this forum, there is lots of good information here, and people willing to help. But what we like best is pictures.
le3, Congrats on a very wise choice and finding such a low mileage one. I have a '98 also plus the Sargent seat and both have been great. Most likely the only issue you may have will be the R/R (regulator) problem There is lots of information on this site on what you can do to circumvent the problem. Otherwise the '98 is bullet proof and a blast to ride. Gear driven cams are pure music! Like the guys have said above....post the pics. Psssst......it brings good luck.
Welcome! Hey, NJ huh? If we were in Montana that would be just around the corner. LOL Oh, and in case no one has mentioned it yet, Hope to meet up with you at some point and ditto on the GDC, though I have learned to really like that VTEC kick in the seat.
Here is a picture Here is a picture before the seat added. I may need to change my minimium temperature to ride (after looking at the forcast) to just sunny and above freezing. Thanks for all the warm welcomes.
welcome, too bad you had to wait so long in the year to get one. More enjoyment and the excitement of waiting for riding season to come around again next year.
Just need to get a little louder exhaust. I ride in the Philly suburbs and never short of traffic. Need to be heard a little more. Any other mods that you think make the world of difference?
get the VFRness from Wire My Bike if you dont already have it and save yourself future charging issues.
Welcome to the madness friend. You found a really great bike which will bring you years and years of enjoyment. Ride safe!
