I am considering buying the Sigma Cycles lowering kit, which comes with shock link, shortened sidestand, and handlebar risers. The pieces can also be purchased separately. So my question is, do I need the handlebar risers, or will I be okay without them.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to feel like a bonehead when I hear the answer to this, but I trust the expertise this site is loaded with.

    Thanx in advance brothers.

    Hi Mr Den
When you lower your bike, You still have to lower the front end so the bike can be level. Your back position still the same. If you want to seat back to eliminate fartigue on the long ride than yes you should install heli bar or at least bar risers to help your back :)
Hope this help. When are you coming for another BBQ.................hehehe TJ entertainment

Yep! I didn't buy the risers as I had already installed Helibars. Quality of the parts supplied by Sigma was absolutely top shelf! Customer service fabulous too.

It will probably be a while before I do these mods, but I will post up on the handling afterwards.
