Hit the Dragon this past weekend October 21st and actualy was able to get a pretty clean run through it for the first time and I just happen to get it on camera! I just strapped my Sony cybershot camera underneath the bungie on the back of my VFR and went.

Sorry the quality is so bad, the original is much better, I had to shrink it down from over 500 megs to just over 40 to upload to video google.

That would be 318 curves in 11 miles. I've been there 3 times and plan to go back twice a year. It totally rocks. In addition to the Dragon, there are about a dozen other top notch roads nearby. The Blue Ridge Parkway, the Cherohala Skyway, NC RT 28 (the Hell Bender) just to name a few.

Here's 2 pics of me dicing it up around the midway point of the 11 miles.

I really wouldn't recommend going in mid spring. I was there in May and it was upper 40's/low 50's & rainy the entire week. You're lucky, you're only 3 hours away so if it rains, no big deal. If it rains when I venture down, I wasted an entire week of leave.

3Hrs?! Maybe how the crow flys!! Try 5 to 6 from Bragg, brother. NC is a big state.

Thanks for the advice, though, it would suck to get rained-out.

Not sure I follow whats a 4g? Are you talking about RPM?

If you are then yeah I generaly stayed 4-6 (which 4 is a little lower than I would like to be) except for the few times when I took it near 11g. I tried to find a good gear and just stay there let the engine do most of the work.

Unfortuantly, I used most of my camera's memory on the video. But here is a picture of us at the Two Wheel Inn...
