Age 11, first time on a bike. Rode my friends XR 80 head on into a 6ft solid wooden fence. Had not quite gotten the "breaking" part down yet. Lots of scrapes. Other than that I have been very blessed not to hurt anything.

    This is my story 4thGenVFR.
It's just a reprint from one of Gofer's old posts.
I was too lazy to retype it all for you.
    Enjoy.

Many dirt bike injuries, none of them worse than minor fractures, broken ribs, concussion, rotator cuff tear, ect. Women have done far more damage to me than motorcycles.

    I have gone down twice.
First, in the '80's, lost the front end doing around 20mph on a slippery underpass. Lost skin on one elbow and one knee. I was wearing boots and helmet.
Second, about 4 years ago, a very slow car decided to switch lane right in front of me, I was going about 40 mph faster than he was. By the time I hit his rear end I was going around 15 mph. Me and the bike dropped on our right sides and slid about 10 feet. I was wearing all the gear and didn't have a scratch.

I had an old lady pull out in fornt of me doing about 40MPH on two lane road-locked up the brakes and jumped over trunk in a "tuck and roll."
Had tank top, soccer shorts and sneakers for protection. End result was one broken clavicle and road rash on both elbows and knee's, and small bruise on head.

    Bike-(1988 Honda Hurricane) trashed
Tank top, shorts and sneakers in perfect condition

What? Do those come off?? How do you get your feet out of the cleetes?

I have injured all four corners of my poor decreped old body, but none of them were from riding my VFR. I did a header off my Rocky Mountain MB about 18 years ago though. ATGATT then too.

The biggest injury was to my pride when I dropped it at a red light in front of several cars while stopped. Sure glad I had my helmet on and no one saw my red face.

    RE: Sqwidy & Dangerous

Admittedly I drove over my head (( tiny brainless head at that )) I was an angry a-hole back in the day, I was never a group or club rider, I would just go out and do a suicide run all by myself.

Now I am all grown up (( I ride a VFR after all , its a grown up's rig,

Mr "Mellow" now days I have a reason to live  in fact I am at the back of the pack when I group up nowdays.

RE: Dont know if I want 2 ride with some of U guys, lol

The "now me", would NEVER ride with the "then me" too.

You wife is only half right, if you married with kid's you have a responsibility / obligation to get life insurance, WHAT , you think I was going to say sell the bike and play video golf, sheeeesh what do you take me for a car driver or something, lol.

But seriously you should be insured up to the hilt and be ultra safety oriented with loved one's in the hook for your demise.

    RE: Mercy for chipmunks

DAM, you are in the IBU = intensive biker unit.

Wonderful to have U hear & still going.

Ya , I'm a hunter I kill bunnies, squrllies and anything else that would looks good in BBQ sauce, so a chipmunk or a poodle it don't matter they are all "thump thump" bumps to me.

I did see 2nd hand what a pitbull looks like after a G X'er 750 blasts it on the freeway , a customer brought the bike in the front end was punched in and raked back badly, the wheel was jammed with bloody hair and dog mush , he lost it , the bike was a salvage, but at least he walked away.

    No booze, just stupid.

Not just the same road, the same patch of it. After the second crash, even though 11 years apart, I quit riding through there altogether.

IMO the above post should be in the "lifestyles" area rather than an accident thread.
