This is probably the wrong part of the forums but I need some help and would like the thread to get noticed fast. Now having said that, I have a funky rattle coming from the front of my bike when I let completley off the throttle. If I pull the clucth all the way in it goes away. Also it does not do it while I am in neutral. If yall have any ideas and can point me in the right direction so I can get it fixed that would be greatly apreaciated.

[edited] : for spelling even though I probably missed a bunch of other things.

Mine does that a bit too. I have seen a thread or two about it already and there hasn't been a clear cut answer. When I hear mine it is almost like a jingling sound from the front end usually only when I am fairly low rpm's and roll on the throttle. Wish I could be more help, but I have no idea what it could be and I don't usually notice mine so I just let it go.

Flapper valve on airbox....Needs oiled/ cleaned...My 99 did the same thing and in real cold weather it sounds like something moving / bouncing inside the airbox...

Good to know! Is this external around the oil cooler or inside the airbox? Sounds like it's external and easy to get to, but just making sure.

    Thanks

I removed flapper completly like a few other people here. Also removed the little 'shelf' below it. There are plastic spot welds that I drilled out and it popped right off. There has been increased noise, but in a really good way. Removing that shelf makes the airbox look wide open. I have no idea if I get better airflow though.

I have no idea if this is where your noise is comming from, but I guess I may have inoculated myself to it.

Well I think it might be the chain but that seems doubtful, but I need to replace it anyway. Hmm could be the airbox but I do not even know where that is seeing as I have yet to get a shop manual for my 95.

Think I shall order a shop book in the next week or so. Then maybe I can do most of the work that it needs this winter when I am not on my sled or snowboard.
