Ok I know i'm going to get slack, but i'm looking at a 06 GSXR 600. The bike has been lowered w/ the lowering links. Is this bad? I'm just going to be riding the bike around town, I may be on the gas at times and conering here and their, but nothing serious. I keep reading that lowering is not a good idea, but I have short legs and it will help me out. Any imput would be great. (i'm a Honda person, but this bike has 963 miles for $4500. So its got me thinking)
The fact that its lowered shouldn't scare you off ,yes it does make it handle different but if you don't ride it stock first it becomes just how that bike handles . The gsxr will be totally different than the 500 you have now anyway you look at it. Good luck with whatever you do.
Like relic said above, a lowered bike will handle differently but if it's lowered from the start you won't notice a difference. Have you checked out stock Gixxers to see if you have to run it lowered? I have short legs, too, but make do with my VFR in the stock stance. Just curious as why is was lowered in the first place...? Some guys lower them just 'cause they think it looks cool. Others do it for drag racing. If the latter is true, make sure the engine hasn't been severely abused for those ~900 miles.
I went to look at the bike, and from what I can tell it is clean. He said he lowered it because he bought it for his girl friend. She droped it at a stop sign, and that was the end of that. I sat on it and it still seem tall, but I also looked at a 00 GSXR and it seemed the same height??? The only difference we were in one of those make shift garages and on dirt
