IMO this is hardly a review..............!! I'd like to hear from somebody that knows what they're talking about that actually rode the bike! Honda has released some bikes recently that are not mainstream, ie. the DN-01, but that doesn't mean the new VFR isn't going to be an awesome bike. I'll let everybody know what I think, firsthand, as I've got dibs on one of the first ones that'll be coming to Minnesota!!

Yeah, I think he's a little confused, that's the original article I wrote way back on October 8 when the 1200 was officially unveiled.

Here's the review I think he was trying to link to, from Kevin Ash:

Honda VFR1200F | Ash On Bikes

It is interesting that Kevin's comments after riding the bike were essentially identical to my initial thoughts just from reviewing the spec sheet

A few of us weren't that fond of the small tank which has been confirmed in Kevin's report...

Thanks for posting that article. after reading all about new multi strada id have to agree hondas got some stiff competition with that new multi, if it does every thing they claim. comparing GT with vfr12 IMO is not a fair comparison and i haven't even seen vfr12 in person yet other than that was a good article. cant wait for bike show first 2 bikes i wanna see feel touch multi and vfr12

Rider magazine has a very good review of the bike.. They will add more when they get one to ride next month.

I like the bit on how it sounds but agree 264kms is rediculous and rules it out for me, even my riding buddys R1 & CBR1000rrs don't look for Gas until 270>280kms on brisk touring.

" Fire up the engine and the offbeat burble will be familiar to V-four owners, if deeper than a VFR800. Snick it into first, release the clutch and the bike pulls as strongly as you’d expect... the surprise is the way the growl changes dramatically to a blood-stirring snarl as 5,000rpm is reached, and another 1000rpm later the power surges in too. "

sound like a great bike but from the review it sounds like it missed the mark as a sport and as a tour. hard to be sport on a big heavy bike and hard to tour when u can only get 164mi/tank. i think im gonna stick with the vfr 800 i can get over 200 mi/tank with it fully loaded and 2 up

The November issue of the motorcyclist has a review. The review is based on riding the VFR on Honda's test track. So it does not contain road riding analysis.

    Note:
    1) 1200 also available in 6 speed manual mode only
    2) No VTEC and any cylinder manipulation technology

Looks like the leather dudes are sort of plastic when it comes to articles in general most of which seem to be reprints and are running a skosh behind the rest of the world in the timeliness area.

Actually 0% of our articles are reprints and we're more timely than any other motorcycle publication in the world.

Unfortunately, I think someone was trying to drop a link to the article Kev wrote and got a bit confused in the process, hence me popping in to help out. It's quite easy to follow along with the reverse chronological order of our articles if you visit the front page: Hell For Leather

The real story here is that the traditional US bike press is, yet again, fawning all over a new bike that the rest of the world is saying quite negative things about.

just wait and buy a wrecked VFR1200 and cram the engine into a 5th or 6th gen frame , hahaha frankenviffer lives .

That would be a scary project , but if you worked it out properly imagine a 170hp engine in the 5th,6th gen frame. some VFR V4 fanatic will try it. LOL
