Hello VFR World members, Just signed up last week. I love the VFR. I'm on my second one. Well sort of. I had a white 93 with cracked up body work and low miles about 10 years back in San Diego. It had a savage title but ran perfect. Used it for less than a year. Never found body work and ended up selling it for what I paid for it. But the fever didn't die. I've been riding for 30+ years but that bike was special. Got a V-strom in 2002 and took one nice trip into Canada. It reminded me of the VFR in some ways. The problem was I moved to Brazil a year later in pursuit of a woman. Ended up settling down here. Not a problem really unless you want a VFR. Bikes are expensive here and VFR's were never imported. To make a long story short I bought a hi mileage (45k?) 2004 for 3050 US bongo bucks last week. I keep it in Texas at my brothers place. He gets to ride it also but I get to have my way with the bike 3 times a year. It's stock with Honda bags. It's in great shape and has been maintained well. I plan on taking a trip south in January. Sort of a great way to torture myself I guess. I've got a DR650 motard here. I'm into two strokes also. I'm going to build up a custom RD/RZ350 next year. I used to ride more but got a busy life now so there's less time to ride. Brazil's a great place for riding I must say though. Bikes are just expensive. Any Brazilian members? I did see a VFR400 once in Sao Paulo. I love those bikes too and saw one cheap on the Supermoto Junkie - Powered by vBulletin forum recently. I bet it's still there! Well that was a fun ramble. Cheers, Brian Campinas, Sao Paulo
Welcome to the forum too! You are a patient man willing to only ride it 3 times a year. I hope you have something there to ride as well.
Having been to Sao Paulo some years ago. There is plenty to ride there unless they all moved to Kalamazoo.
I stand corrected. After Badbilly's comment I decided to search one of the sites. I found two! They are categorized as VFR400's for some reason. check out the prices Moto nova e usada A 1991 that looks real clean for only 22000 reais. Talk him down to 20000 and apply the 1.74 exchange rate and it can be you're for less than $11,500! what a deal. Never fear, I've got a semi-ratty DR650 motard that I can get into plenty of trouble while I'm here. Pictures hey? Let me try and post something.... Cheers, Brian
I'm sure all the ladies in Brazil look like that and therefor it's worth living with that kind of inflation and rediculous motorcycle prices??
Welcome Brian! Did you say vfr 400? that's a nice one. I had an '86 vfr 400rr back in 1989. Looked exactly like this:
You've officially won the Avatar of the Year. Great Googleymoogley! My wife is from Puerto Rico, so I have a "thing" for the Spanish ladies. I will not go to Brazil as I know I will never come back. Hope you get to spend some time on that VFR, but at least you still have 2 wheels to ride while your there! Enjoy.
Thanks guys. I knew it would be a success. It's proof that there is more to life than just motorcycles! Please don't come to Brazil unless you are ready to totally restructure you life in a big way. hahahahaha I'm trying to stay off this site at least until my next visit to Texas....
Welcome aboard. We'll make a deal. You can supply us with pictures of fine Brazillian women, and we will supply pictures of fine VFRs. How does that sound?
