Hi guys, I've recently rescued an '84 1000 and have been trying to toggle between learning and absorbing a wealth of info on this site and actually taking the bike apart and learning for myself.
The bike has sat for quite some time and I've always had good luck with filling the cylinders with either diesel or Sea Foam. (I've rescued a few old Kawi GPZ's) However when I spray/pour down the sparkplug hole,,,, it pisses out a tiny little hole on the side of each headjust below the plug hole. What is that?
Oh, and is there a trick to filling the cylinder on these V engines? Obviously you can't through the spark plug hole.

Any help would be much appreciated here. I don't really want to crank it over and risk it seizing up.

they are the oil galley plugs in the cylinder head casting, at least that's what they are on the 6g head casting. that would explain the fluid coming out of them when the cylinder was filled. i highly recommend that you don't bugger those plugs up or misplace them, they have a very uncommon thread pitch. the only place i have seen grub screws with that thread pitch is McMaster-Carr and Honda does not have them available....they don't even have a part number for that application.

Please keep in mind that this is all based upon my experience with 6g heads, however, i'm pretty confident the info is solid.

There are small passages in the head to let fluid out from the sparkplug well, so if you see dripping it may mean that the cylinder has taken all the fluid it can........

You'll need to open the inspection cover and put a socket and breaker bar on the end of the crankshaft to turn it manually.
