Well there were some questions about how I can total two VFRs. Here are the death blows of my 05 silver baby. This is what happens when a F-150 and a VFR meet at 40.

Here is the link to the actual news thread. The pic sucks but you can see where they had to jack the truck up to get me out. I guess it is good that I do not remember what happened or the seven days after.

Had mentioned in another post about my injuries, but will give a quick primer.

Ruptured spleen (I think two surgeries to fix it. Still have it.), cracked ribs, took a knock to the head, week in the hospital, five of that in the ICU.
Lost over 50 pounds in 8 weeks. Went from 195 to 139 lbs. I am just shy of six feet tall.

Good news is, I am recovering. The most important thing is I am still breathing. Any day above the ground is a good one.

Glad to hear you made it out alive!

Keep us all posted on your progress. Do you plan to get back on a bike anytime soon after recovery?

Definately glad your around to post. Loseing a VFR or any motorcycle hurts but nothing to compare to what you have been through. The VFR can be replaced (you have proved this at least once). You on the other hand can not. (Cool Avitar BTW, I love that show). Definately glad you are ok!

Wow, glad you're ok. I hope you inflicted some damage on that F150!
Motorcycles don't matter a lick, still breathing means everything.
    Speedy recovery to you.

I think your next bike should not be silver. Maybe red would be better. Glad you're ok. Have you been told who was at fault or what happened?

You didn't have anything important to do for those 7 days.

You are one tough mother. Keep kicking the recovery.

So the article said "He was wearing a helmet and sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.", but a ruptured spleen. Internal bleeding is no joke. Glad to hear you're ok. Keep us posted.

Life indeed looks different when you have stared death in the face. I am hella glad you're around to tell us about this. Keep your spirits up, and your body will heal itself in time. As for the bike, it's just a machine. They'll make more. Best wishes for a full and rapid recovery brother.:eek::tongue:

    Wow everybody.

Thanks for the support. The last few months have been the hardest in my life, but I am breathing. That much is good. If anybody is interested, the wreck was only the tip of the iceberg. I have a story that is 100% true about the last few months that I am positive nobody would believe.

Thanks for the support everyone. It is much appreciated. It means much coming from fellow riders.

    Remember, rubber side down.

The other guy was at fault. He pulled out in front of me without looking. The witness said I dumped the bike before hitting him. The detective investigating said that I had about a half second to react. Apparently, my reaction was to dump the bike to slide under it. If I had not done that, I would have been killed instantly.

Since I have no memory of this, I am relying on witness statements and police reports to tell my story. The last thing I remember was turning left on the green arrow.

Oh yeah, I had more insurance on my bike than he had on his truck.
