    Hi ,

Has anyone had any experience with using Genmar bar risers as I can't decide whether to buy them or go the whole hog and get heli bars, is it possible if i bought bar risers I would just wish i had bought heli bars in the first place ?
I have a 2000 vfr 800 fi-y which i just bought as my first vfr,

Genmars will raise the bars about an inch. Helibars will both raise the bars about an inch or so, and bring them closer to you about an inch or so. Depends on what you're looking for.

Thanks Knife, I might try the bar risers first as my bike came with heated grips and I think i will wait till after the winter before i disturb them and have to buy new heated grips.

    Cheers

    Hi
I went with Heli bars. Wanted to be in a more up right position and made wife more comfortable with me closer to her...

    Just my 2 cents

For what its worth, before you spend the money on the GENMAR risers do some more research. I know alot of people that like them and just as many others that don't, the bars may come into contact with the wind screen frame, big PITA.

I just raised mine with out the GENMARs and retightened the bars. Got about 10k like that and no issues. Some folks will not give that particular method a thumbs up but it has worked for me.

    There's my couple of pennies.

Almost forgot, another alternative to the helibars are a set of clamp ons from a speed triple, there is a great thread on here from someone that has done it and it looks great!
