Well I went out and got a used 2001 Ducati 748 monoposto. It has been a month since the VFR800 has departed and there was a void to be filled. Not that the Duc can replace a VFR by any means! Probably have to get another VFR for the street.

    Initial impressions,
    Loud
    Stiff
    tiny
    Extreme ergos
    Sexy
    Slow (compared to the 800)

It will be interesting on the track which is primarily what I bought it for!

Not to get off of the subject, but what happened to the 500 reg? Are you ditchin' it for a dirtbike?

    Congrats on 748

My bud, Stan Zangel races a 748 and has one to play with. He really likes the 748 and I tend to respect his choices. He also turned my onto Castle (South African) beer. I'm forever in is debt.

    Good for you Jethro!

nah, still have the 500. the wife and I talked about just keeping the 500 for her to learn on and then if she decides she likes riding, we may part it or sell and buy her something new... the dealer scared the crap out of me with his estimates before taking a wrench to it and still charged me 1/2 hour labor for starting the bike which starts first try every time. The dirtbike is just for fun. I have always enjoyed flying through the air on a dirtbike so I'm looking for something to play in the dirt on.

Hey Jethro911, I'm glad to see you picked up another ride. The neighborhood needs more 2wheelers. Hopefully we can get together for a coffee and a ride. I'll be in touch soon.
