Back in the day when I was doing what I was doing we used to lockwire those PIA clamps together to aid in there installation. Using twisters or not, some lockwire wrapped around the tabs (under the bolt hole) works wonders.

Is this what you meant? This is a pic right after the install before taking out the baffles.

You can PM kia001. He is a member of this site and sold me my exhaust. I'm not sure if he ships to Singapore but you could ask him.

I have carbon LV installed on my 6th Gen, but they are not symmetrically fitted. This is rather similar to Rextasy pic, but my is worse fitting, left side is almost touching the signal lights assembly.

SilverSurfer, would you mind sharing a pic of your exhuast from a rear rider's point of view?

Before I installed the spacers properly my left exhaust was just barely under the light assembly. You have to play around with the fitting of the spacers and the springs to get the cans to the right position. I will post a picture later when i get a chance.

Pics and advice forthe Leo install

The problems experinced by many folks can all be tied to the spacers and bushings (and POS directions/schematic.) After you have removed old pipes look at the spot the hanger bolt runs through the subframe. Those rubber bushing must be removed for standard install and the aluminum bushings (4) take there place. Picture 1 below shows old rubber bushing above installed hardware. Pic 2 is a close up of installed internal bolt and bushing Pic 3 is EXTERNAL SPACER (small) hanger clamp and bolt. Pic 4 is the finished product. Little tweeking with pipe alignment and wala. Sexy Beast. Hope this helps. 0422011412.jpg 0422011411.jpg 0422011416.jpg 0422011413.jpg

I agree, take off the rubber bushing and install the 4 aluminum bushings to have a perfect alignment.[IMG]

    Thanks a lot!
I had no clue I had to remove the old rubber bushings and use the aluminum ones.
All done now and it was a lot easier.

Holy thread revivals!!! This thread is so old that 1) the silver 05' VFR in my video got melted in a garage fire... 2) the same exhaust has been installed on a 07' VFR RWB... and 3) my screen name changed from SS800 to SSRWB!

The spacers are very important to get right to avoid the cans rubbing on the plate, tire and tail lights. If any of the pipes are even a little bent it can cause a bunch of trouble. Glad the thread is still useful to someone!
