Hi, Has anyone tried the crampbuster on their throttle grip, as its supposed to be a cheap form of cruise control, i can get one for £4.95 in england so might be a cheap fix for wrist strain, also does anyone have them fitted to both grips,
i recently used the wider one on a 1300 mile trip, worked great my wrist would have gone numb without. great for highway, i dont know why you would want one on the non-throttle grip though.
thanks, i will get the wide one then for the throttle and not bother with the other, as i probably wont need one as my non throttle hand isn't moving. makes sense
I would say to go for it. I put one on just before a 1000 mile trip, and had no wrist/arm fatigue whatsoever. Money well spent IMHO.
I used them on both grips for quite a while and they were helpful. Don't seem to need them any longer, though, so I haven't used them in a while. Maybe my wrists have conformed to the bike by now.
Great by I got the larger one and it works great. Just the other day I took it off to let another rider try it and my hand cramped up shortly after that and had to get it back at next stop. So yes it is worth the $$
You could not give me one of those as I think you are just asking for trouble and some people have had issues with them. I would get a vista cruise or throttle lock instead.
Just finished a 300-mile ride the other day, my first longer ride with one; helped a lot being able to turn loose of the grip to rest my hand. Want to find a throttle-lock(an actual cruise control is not really in the budget), but until I do, this works
I made a mod to my 'buster: the inside edge and corner pushed on just the wrong area of the heel of the hand. So used a heat gun to warm it up and a pair of flat-jaw pliers to give the 'wing' a little downward curve toward the inside; much better. If you try this, that's a pretty tough polymer, you have to heat it quite hot before it'll bend and stay bent; and hold it for a few moments till it cools a bit. Pretty good memory, too; I gave mine a second heat to change the angle a bit and as it heated it straightened back up.
