    Hi Guys

Had my 2007 mod for about 3 months . Don't know if anyone can help me but here we go ''

I have aftermarket pipes (staintune) and because the size of the pipes are larger the original heat shield doesn't fit .

I'm talking about the one just behind your right leg running down near your calf .( I'm burning my riding pants on the exhaust )

I'm more concerned about the look off the bike . I'm told by Honda here in Australia they don't make one .

anyone know were I can buy one in the US ????? what do other rides do ??

    thank you ..

I kind of like the look of the Targa perforated heat shield:

Targa Silver Sportbike Heat Shield - DennisKirk.com

They come in a variety of colors.

You can probably find a number of different ways to add a heat shield onto it -- most universals should fit with an appropriately sized hose clamp.

Post up some pictures when you get one!

How does the stock one attach? My bike came with a set of Microns so I don't have a stock setup to play with but want to add a heat shield strictly for cosmetic reasons.

I had staintunes on a previous 6th gen and the lack of heat shield isnt an issue, I never got burned.
IMO Honda only fitted the heatshield to the original pipes cos it was cheaper than polishing the pipe.
The leo vinces I have on this bike do have a heat shield, FWIW.
It would be fairly easy to fabricate some brackets using stainless pipe clamps and reuse the original honda one, but I wouldnt bother.

Thanks elwray . just like the pic you have in the link . I'm more concerned about the look ( but burning holes my RST riding pants isnt good )

The staintune pipes were put on by the previous owner So I don't have the original shield ,

taken a pic of the pipe so you can see what I'm talking about . Go to my Photo Gallery to see ( can't work out how to place a pic in post just yet )

    cheers
