I've had a lot of luck with Pilot Road 2s. I would have one on the rear, but I wanted to try the Roadsmart out. PR2s are great tires. Depending on how many miles I get out of the Roadsmart, I may go back to a PR2 on the rear.

ugh! I'm so torn between Pirelli Diablo Stradas(current setup), the michelin pilot road 2's, and the dunlop roadsmarts. Priorities: Mileage-Grip-able to run in colder Michigan winter temperatures.

    Any thoughts?

    My RoadSmart 4000 mile impression...

I put Roadsmards on my bike this spring, and now that I have 4000 miles on them, I thought I'd share my impressions with the group.

So far, I am very happy with the grip and handling of these tires. I commute to work most days, and I've put in a few 400 to 1000 mile trips so far. I always ride solo, and I don't load up with much luggage. They grip great in the rain or in the dry, cold or heat. On my trip around Lake Michigan with a guy on a Harley, he had traction issues in the rain but the Roadsmarts stuck like glue. On a particular set of three curves near my office, I have been gradually taking them a little faster each time and there is absolutely no issue with traction.

So far, wear seems pretty good. I just took these pictures and the tires have exactly 4003 miles on them...

Considering the fact that I live in Illinois - the land of straight roads - they seem to be wearing pretty well so far. I had Qualifiers previously that were as square as car tires by the time I was done with them.....

I just recently put a Roadsmart on the rear, and have a Q in the front. We'll see how it goes. The old rear Qualifier went 3800 mile before it was toast.

I did some wet weather testing of the Dunlop Roadsmarts and well.....they are pretty good...took my usual hard right corner at a decent lean angle...made me feel confident enough to push a little more on the sharp left that comes right after and um.....the rear broke loose, nothing too sudden, just a nice slide. I chased 'er 'till the edge of the road and had to stand her up once I ran off on the wet grass. Rode it all the way down the ditch and into the swamp and the only damage was to my ego!!!!

with shipping and taxes, I got mine for $270.43 for the set from CycleGear, plus I used my AMA card, so I got 3% off that. If you lived in a state that doesn't have a Cycle gear, you wouldn't have to pay tax or the CA tire disposal fee.

I ran about 25 - 28 on the track. On the street I run about 35 front and rear. I get a pretty good feel and have not experimented with different pressures..

I love these tires... better than the Qualys I think the grip = comp to a race tire...
