Great Site... Recently bought a 2000 VFR in Dark (Connifer) Green. Bone-stock with only 1,300kms & mint condition. This is my 6th road bike after 5 yrs off bikes, & my first Honda. Did my homework by going through the back-issues of the U.S. & Brit mags, & waited for the right bike. It is by far the most refined & fasted ride I have owned. Very stable, even leaning through bumpy corners & at speed. Linked brakes are better than I expected. It is comfortable enough to ride all day, even with the stock seat/cowling setup. The only other Honda I have seen with the same colour is the ST 1100. On the VFR it's very understated & hopefully less conspicuous to RadarO'Rieley's. I plan to keep things basically stock, with the exception of windscreen, exhaust, braided lines, hugger & soft saddlebags. Has anyone done a two cannister left side (chain-side) conversion on the exhaust system ala-RC45 racer? I may have to go with the right side single cannister setup to avoid a sharp 90 degree bend out of the cat-conv. What about highmounted Remus vs TwoBros vs Staintune? Would be nice to see more of that backwheel, shave some weight and add some extra rumble without the race-can volume. Thanx.
Hi Joey, Welcome to the group. Sounds like you scored a great ride. I agree the greenis understated on the VFR and you have a nice list of future mods. I believe, but am not 100% positive, that to do a left side exhaust it would have to be a full system, not just the slip-on, as well as the center-stand will need to be removed. Maybe someone here who has done the left side conversion will chime in with better info than I can provide.
welcome to the group. i have wondered the same thing about rerouting the exhaust to show the tire. let me know what you can come up with.
Thank you for the response. Just got my computer back from the shop after debugging. I found a local shop called Cycle Source which does some nice work including custom painting. Will update you on any progress on future exaust mods. Thanx.
