First off, I'd like to introduce myself as I'm new to the forum. I am a past 4th gen owner and recently picked up a mint 02 Red VFR. It's good to be back in a comfortable saddle again as the CBR was killing me on those long rides.. Anyway, while I was lurking in the forum a bit looking for info on mods, I noticed a string by Tori on a custom front brake setup he had supplied by Speigler Performance. It was a three line kit that that upgrades the front brakes only. Although I would like to upgrade the whole bike, it sounds like it's a major pain in the ass, not to mention a little pricey ($400). I figure the majority of braking is done with the front so that's where the biggest bang for the buck should be. I noticed a big difference after upgrading my CBR 900. After several back and forth emails and calls, I got Speigler to offer a 3 line only kit for the 02-09 bikes (their standard kit is 9 lines). I don't know if this will be a one-time run or a new standard kit. The part number is VFR-800KIT and they will offer it for the discounted price of $138.55 + shipping (10% of their retail) and will do colors for no extra charge. The guy I dealt with, Dave, mentioned that they could do a better price through a group buy but that would require someone to collect payment for all orders ahead of time.
