vf500f frame color

i have a 1985 vf500f. my frame is flat black. i am disassembling most of the bike to restore and it doesn't look like the frame was painted. unless they totally stripped the bike. any input would be great.

All VF500's had silver frames from the factory, yours has certainly be changed by a previous owner. Just because it's not 'correct' does not mean you can't keep it!

thanks, i went yesterday and bought THE SILVER PAINT , more info. my fork sliders are not painted, all the pictures i look at are either black or red.

 

My '85 500 is as completely original/stock as you can get, really the only thing changed since new is the "500" script missing on the new seat. Check my gallery for pics to see factory colors.

 

is there anyplace to get the original graphics, such as the interceptor on side panel?

 

I have a pair of the interceptor decals that are for an 84 vf500 that are red and white in color. I don't know if 85 is different. You can have them for the price of postage. If you are interested pm me.

frame as of sunday 4:00pm, not bad for a bike that was running saturday morning, thanks for all the help. this forum is awesome.
