The RSVR is a nice Supersports motorcycle but is certainly not the VFR I want.

The article is an interesting read, the quote " It will not make a beginning rider feel like superman. It will make them feel like a meek nerd " explains why 8 RSVRs were crashed by journalists on the bikes launch.

RSV4, great repli-racer. I challenge you to ride it daily, for hundreds of miles at a shot, with a pillion at times, and some luggage too.

Great bike, work of art in my opinion, and for it's target market, arguably the best bike on the market at the moment.

But it's not an all-arounder. Not the VFR-F I want or expect either.

As I've said before, I'd love it if Honda would come out with a new RVF1000RR variant of the V4, as a direct competitor to the Ape RSV4. That'd be a great bike. However, since Mr. Honda's death, I don't think the bean-counters would allow that; all the passion and soul of Honda left when Mr. Honda died, IMNSHO (In My Not So Humble Opinion).

    +1

It's too sporty and not enough toury to be a VFR, more like a CBR. Nice bike, though.

Still say Honda should make two versions, bring back the good ole days. I remember a certain 350 that was made as an off road, SL350 scrambler CL350 and full on street CB 350. whats wrong with that plan. but yea I get what you're saying, should have been the new VFR, instead we get this one. and Mr. Honda is a rolling around in his grave.

I had posted in some other thread about a month ago. Keep in mind I'm not as fanatical as many of your are here - I just like to ride. I saw one of these "in the flesh". Hands down, no questions asked it was an RSV4. I thought it was one damn sexy bike. But to be honest, I had no idea what I was looking at. Stuck up a conversation, and we rode about 40 or so miles together.

I later learned that they aren't/weren't available in the US. I never asked the guy since I didn't know any better. The guy was from Poland, and he did mention that he had recently shipped and sold his previous bike over to Poland because he was able to get about $1500 more over there, even after shipping. Maybe he had the RSV4 shipped over here from Europe.

Either way, a really sweet looking bike, but probably more than I'll ever need. Now wanting is a different question...

3 bikes I am hoping to see at the Cycle World show in Cleveland this winter: VFR1200, BMW SS1000R and Aprilia RSV4. Can't afford to buy any of them, but can't wait to see 'em and swing a leg over just for the hell of it.

Of the 3, I'd be mostly likely to buy the VFR. The RSV4 is probably the engine I'd want, the BMW the styling and the VFR the ergos. Hmm, what would that be? VFR1000RRV4?

Seriously tho, the RSV4 looks like sex on wheels and I'd love to have one, but it also looks way to uncomfortable to be my only bike. I do everything from my 10-mile commute to 400-mile days and a few trips per year. My body couldn't handle supersport ergos on the long days. :frown:

Hector. I used Paint Shop Pro "time machine" photo effect to go back in time to 1830. Free download (limited use).

The RSV4 is about as close to my version of a dream there is. If they would just make it with VFR ergo's I would be in heaven...

Yep, that's an Aprilia Futura. Has the old V2 motor in it. Great bike, too bad the company had money problems and quit making it.
