    Hi all

Purchased a 1990 VFR750FL about 6 weeks ago. Just trying to get an indication of the fuel consumption it should be getting. I am averaging between 230 - 250 kilometres per tank of fuel. I have read (not on this site) of riders getting 350km from a tank. Is the mileage I am getting reasonable?

    Thanks

I used to get 320-340km on brisk tour before Flash on my prev Gen 6, my current Gen 5 Ver 1 about 240-250km before Flash...

Not sure on a Gen3 but they are the heaviest (without ABS) VFR Generation and have a smaller ( 19 liter ) fuel tank so maybe 250km's is about right ?

I generally get about 180 miles (288km) on about 3.8 U.S. gallons on my 93 VFR750. MPG varies depending on how hard I ride it and the type of riding, highway, city, or back roads (speed up/slow down).

I've returned as high as 48mpg & as low as 34mpg. On a daily basis, I get between 40 & 41. I did a 316 mile loop on extreme roads (Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Rt 441/Smokey Mountain National Parkway, Blue Ridge ParkWay) with the outside temp at 75f and returned 39mpg. All this on a 2000 VFR.

    KC-10 FE out...

Consider yourself lucky, my bike only gets me about 31 MPG/53 KMG. It might have to do with the extra lead in the gloves.

    Thanks

    Thanks everyone for their comments.

Looks like I am getting reasonable economy. Will be balancing the carbies in the near future which may improve it more.

    Thanks again
