    Hello folks,

I am new to the forum so please forgive if the answer to my question has been answered elsewhere.

Riding my 2001 VFR with 8000 miles yesterday. Stop for gas, get back on, turn key, nada, zip, nothing. No digital display, lights, horn, etc.

I have checked every fuse I can find (30 amp, 20 amp, and many smaller in separate fuse box) and find nothing amiss. Checked battery voltage (after long trailer-ride home) and battery is fully charged....maybe over charged...read over 15 volts.

I have been Emailing Josh about a new RR and his VFRarness and he thought my problem was most likely a dead battery, not a fully charged one.

    So depressed :frown:....any ideas?

Quick follow up to my problem. Battery was dead...my voltmeter lied to me. Replaced it and installed Josh Tilton's VFRness, still using stock RR and everything tests out fine. I can't thank Josh enough for his quick responses to my questions and getting his harness to me ASAP.

Josh is super helpful. I'm glad you are back on the road. Make sure to run all of the checks you can. Check the stator per the manual and it sounds like you ran diagnostics on the R/R and it checked fine. However, with the VFRness, I would consider putting in a Rick's R/R.

Charging voltage appears to be more stable.

I posted some of my measurements not too long ago and that could be a decent baseline for you.

Thanks Tito! I will check your readings against my own.
