Just wanted to say HI! Been lurking here for a while and have to say, what a great resource of information!

My wonderful wife allowed me to get a new Dark Cherry Red 07 Interceptor today. Got a great deal on the bike and after 15 years out of the riding game it's great to be back in the saddle!!

Plan on spending some time breaking her in tomorrow as the weather here in Florida is supposed to be sunny and 75.

Again thanks for all the great info you guys and gals provide and I look forward to becoming an active member here...

WELCOME HERE! Since you have been off for 15 years I suggest you take the MSF course again just as a refresher. It is amazing what we unlearn over time. But, as for the sunny and 75..... We just put 3 of the bikes up for the winter as it was a balmy 45 here and at least it didn't rain as promised. That would have sucked. Supposed to have some snow this evening and overnight. Only have the VFR left ready to ride as it may get into the 50's during the week so maybe a few more commutes to work before she goes to bed til spring. You guys in the south.........! Oh, BTW, it is required that you post up a picture of the new ride! LOL

It's a great time to buy a VFR with the incentives that Honda is offering. I've got the RWB, but I do like the Red. Are you a first time V4 owner? Please post your initial impressions of the bike once you've spent some time on it. Congratulations and welcome.

I plan on taking a safety course, and on taking it very easy for the first few miles. I got my first dirt bike at six, first street bike at 14, and rode steadily until 25 when the toy (ZX-6R) had to go away to buy the first house. So I've really been off 13 years except for the occasional quick ride on friend's bikes.

Riding the bike home today it all came back pretty quick, but you definitely lose your edge. Just details like forgetting to kill the turn signal and such. I plan on keeping it on the back roads until I'm more comfortable.

This is my first V4, but I've wanted one for years. A friend had a VFR 750 (Gen 4, I think) and always loved how smooth the power delivery was. My first-first impression of the 800 is how smooth the transmission shifts, even for a brand new bike. I remember my 6R being pretty clunky back in the day. I obviously haven't explored the upper rev ranges yet, but like the smooth feel of the engine down low.

Will post my impressions of the bike as I get through the break-in and am able to stretch her legs a little more.

Thanks for the welcome and look forward to learning more about this wonderful machine here!!

Ha, didn't happen without pics, huh? Ok, the only one I have right now is this crappy cell phone pic in my garage - I'll get some better ones later today...

Nice ride, looks cool and great deals on them out there... if I didn't love my double X so much I'd pick up a new 07.

You are one smart fella Creggur, you should fit in just fine here!! I also love the color of that bike and think its one of the sharpest colors of any bike made! Congrats again and please post your location in your profile. This will make it easier for members to invite themselves over to help you maintain your bike and drink your cold beer

    Regards,
    Rollin

Done and done!! Any VFRworlders in the Jacksonville area that want are welcome anytime. There's plenty of post-ride beer (and some stronger offerings) usually available:thumbsup:

I'm in East Syracuse. It's just a couple of hours from Albany. Unfortunately, like you, the riding season is just about over here. This week they're calling for temps in the lower 60s, so I'm hoping to get a couple of riding days in.

I used to live in the Syracuse area (Skaneateles, Auburn, Camillus, Rose Hill). Still have some family there. So if it's going to be in the 60's there this week, that's what we used to call the dog days of Summer. One Summer it rained either Saturday, Sunday, or both days for 12 consecutive weeks. Ahhhh, the precious memories!

My brother, who lives in N. Syracuse, and I just got back this past Wednesday from a ride through the Adirondacks, VT, NH, and on to Bar Harbor, ME, then back again. Great trip, but cold most of the time (34F to 59F), and some heavy rain and even snow flurries.

Hope you have a nice and warm few days of riding!

Well hurry up and get adjusted to that new toy so you can come up and ride North Georgia, Tennessee and Western Carolina with us. The roads up here are amazing and I'm sure you'll get a litle bored riding down there after a while. After all, they don't call Florida the land of the straights for nothing.

    Regards,
    Rollin

Land of the straights indeed, Rollin! Will definitely be up that way at some point next year. Never been to Duluth, but have spent time right up the road around Dahlonega and Helen. Love those curvy hills!

    Great Looking Bike

Wecome to VFR Heaven. It's a really nice colour and would be my choice if I ever went 6 Gen.At present just enjoying a very welcome addition to my stable.A very nice looking "91 CBR 400 RR very hard to get in the original livery and it is an amazing performer for a 400.
