A stand alone 3-way fuel shutoff valve ???

I have three early V4 Magna's that have a wierd tank sensor/senders that costs about $50 to replace . Any of the original Magna's has a dual tank system with the sender in the reserve tank downstream of the main tank. If the reserve tank sensor goes bad (and I have three sensors in three bikes that are each bad) you have no warning light to tell you that you are low on fuel. These Magna bikes have an OFF/ON tank valve that appears like it might have been designed to be a three way valve with a MAIN/RESERVE/OFF capability at one time or for another cycle that Honda made in the 70's or 80's.

DOES ANY ONE OUT THERE IN THE WORLD KNOW OF A HONDA THAT HAD A STAND ALONE 3 WAY FUEL VALVE? DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW IF THERE IS A STAND ALONE 3- way valve from any bike available.

Remember that the Magnas from 82-86 had stand alone shut off valves that were not the typical petcock design that sticks a hollow rod up inside the tank attached via a tank boss on the underside of the tank. Like I said, the early Magna's have a two tank system with a stand alone shut off valve. What I want is a replacement stand alone 3- way valve from a motorcycle, preferably with an attachment similar to that of the Magna on/off valve. I want to to be able to change tanks. When I run out of gas in the main tank I want to be able to switch over to the reserve tank. I need a system that is like some of the old Harley dual tank bikes. But I have not found a source for a Harley three way valve, except a $200 - $300 billet aluminum job.

Please don't direct me to a 'marine 3-way' or a 'truck 3-way' valve, they are too big and too expensive :frown:.

Thus far as close as I have come to reasonably priced motorcycle size 3-way stand alone fuel valve is from a '93-'98 Polaris Storm Snowmobile. It costs in the low to mid $20.00 range. I have one on order to take a look at it at my local Polaris dealership. But I don't think it will work on the Magna's fuel set up because it has a single inlet from the tank that feeds a dual outlet to feed the triple carb setup of the Polaris 800 cc motor :crazy:.

Any help from an old time Magna or Sabre Vf rider would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking for almost a month. If it's possible to modify a Magna on /off valve to make it into a 3 way I would like to know about that too :smile:.

I keep getting an error message when I try to register at the V4HondaBBs.com site. It tells me that the Registration page is unavailable to a blighter like myself. Any thoughts on getting around this screw up? I tried to register last night before bed and this morning as well. Same error message.:frown:

No word from "Billy C" :frown:. Went on eBay. I really do not know how to find out his address on eBay . I went to the site where he sells the "complete" carburetor rebuild kits that you pointed me to. All I could think to do is ask him a question. "Hey, Billy C. Here's my email address. Could you tell me if you have a line on stand alone 3-way fuel valve for an '82 Magna V45" :redface:. He has yet to respond. IS he by chance a VFRWORLD member? Could I email him useing his VFRWORLD AVATAR?? I can't register at V4HondaBBS. All I gets is an error mesage telling me that I can't register. :smile:

But the horse said he was too busy eating his hay to help the little red hen find a 3-way valve. So the little red hen went to the pig and asked if he could help the little red hen find a 3-way stand alone fuel shutoff valve, but the pig said he was too busy wallowing in the mud to help the little red hen find a 3-way fuel shut off valve. So the little red hen went to the donkey and asked him if he could help him locate a 3-way stand alone fuel cut off valve. But the donkey said he was too busy Braying at the rest of the farm animals to help the little red hen. So the little red hen went to the dog and asked him if .. and .. well you know what he said.

And so the Little Red Hen went down the line asking for help but everybody was too busy to help. So the little red hen said to himself, "I know what I'll do, I'll make my own 3-way stand alone fuel shut off valve." And that was just what he did!
Later, the horse and the pig and the donkey and the dog came around asking if they could have 3-way fuel shut off valves. But the little red hen told them that he was too busy riding his Vf V45 to help them make their own.
