During transit yesterday my front brakeline broke right at the connection under the reservoir by the right handle.

Is there a way to cut and re-clamp this line or do I have to get a new one.

    Replace

No you can't repair it and if you could you would not want to.

Kinda figured. Kinda sucks. Just dropped a bundle on the carb work and new tires yesterday. Probably better it happens now then when I am on the road.

    About the Ronald Reagan quote.
He tried to stop Social Security. He had a rich Doctors wife - !@!@#%$#@
    everybody else right?

Also about the brake line. YES you can remove it and take it to a hydraulic shop and they can fix it. The have the special tools to do it.

Most hydrolic shops will not repair or make brake lines for liability reasons. I dont see anything wrong with the integrity of the repair if it is done by a hydrolic press specificaly for hydrolic lines but the fittings are not all that cheap and there will be a service fee also... IMHO Order a new line, both end fittings and the hose will be new if you go this route. Brakes are rather IMPORTANT!

When I was in the military the hydraulic shop repaired and made hydraulic lines all the time. They would make anything you want. Just have to have the right tools. The swaging machine, fittings and skill. Shops fix hydraulic lines for heavy equipment that gets broken too.

    Really?

Not sure where you were going with the quote but, we repair and fab brake and hyd lines all day every day but not after it has had fluid in it. Do not know of a shop that will touch a brake line that has been in service.Having a front brake line fail while .......well enough said.

Why not spend for a steel-braided setup now?? Better braking is the result.
