Ticking noise over 5k rpm...

Hi all,

I've had a ticking noise over about 5k rpm on my '02 VFR800 for about the last month now.

It goes away (well, I can't hear it anymore - probably due to the exhaust noise) over about 6k.

The bike has almost 70,000kms on it.


Could this be my valves? I don't know if they've ever been checked. (Had the bike for about 10,000kms)

for peice of mind you could go get the valves checked ..but be ready for the bill.......

 

Hehe, searched a lot before posting, but now am suddenly finding heaps of info about this ("clacking", not "ticking", though)!
