When I bought mine it is listed by Honda as Dark Candy Red. Glory Red just doesn't sound right.

Man, you make me homesick!! I am a Kiwi who has been exiled to the US for 33 years! I also bought a new 07 candy glory red, in march. BTW, is there any other color?? Not in my book!
    Cheers
    John.

well, over here in NZ the 'decal' is standard on all 6th gen.

it is infact a 3D metal plate logo, this pic will sort of show it...

you should be able to order it as a spare part as it is a genuine honda item.

I was reading another thread and there was a VFR owner on this forum that ordered the 3D VFR Logo out of the UK for around $100 US. I'd love to have a set myself but that's a bit pricey for some letters.

    I'll agree on that.

Even the "Interceptor" sticker on my '07 comes up at something like $27. Ouch.

    Anyway... Welcome, cammed06!

Ok Guys. I'm new to the forum. Got my '07 candle apple red VFR last year and added the 2-bros exhaust and more recently the fender eliminator kit. I like the sound much better now, since I thought it sounded like my lawnmower next to my friend's CBR1100. I'll post some pics as soon as I get the license plate light back on. Glad to feel like a member of an exclusive club.

By the way, after riding for more that 30 minutes, my hands start to numb a little. Is it just the gloves or have any of you changed your grips?

hey joey, a couple of questions first.

    1. one hand or both hands? if one hand which side?

    2. have you tried changing gloves yet? do they feel tight on?

typically i can ride for hours without any hand numbness. it really not an issue for me with the stock grips.

    things that could cause this.

tight gloves, anything that restricts blood flow circulation to the hand (jacket?) or one from the old days..... vibrating handle bars.

check the bar end wieghts are secure (and there)...

    worst case scenario...high cholesterol...

dark candy red is Honda paint code R114.

Candy glory red is honda paint code R-101c-u

the paint codes are normally on a sticker under where the the seat is.

i saw an ST 1300 in dark candy at my local dealer and it was almost indistinguishable from the VFR....until you got them in the sun.

i think the CBR 1000RR gets a silver/dark candy option too?

Candy glory has a warmer hue to it compared to dark candy...but theres not a lot in it...

Welcome, Joey. I asked almost the same question two months ago when I got my '07. Here's a link to that thread. There's good advice there.

The quick answers: sit up a bit more, using your back muscles to hold you rather than leaning so much on your hands; think of the tank as a Thighmaster -- get a grip on it with your knees and use your leg and back muscles to hold your torso up; lighten up your grip on the bars -- no 'death grip' required.

There's also a very good discussion on "the other VFR forum" about it. I don't know if I'd be out of bounds to post a link here, so I won't at the moment, but feel free to PM me if you'd like -- I'd be glad to give you a link to that thread as well.

Congrats on your new purchase. Enjoy it, and be safe out there.

throttlemeiser... every time my hand starts to go numb, i set the cruise control, sit up and shake it out for a few minutes. you can only due this safely in very low traffic situations, but thats here my hand usually goes numb anyways...

No kidding...I live in Niceville, Fl. also. Small world.

On another note, went for a nice long ride with some friends, yesterday and had a blast. The bike is faster than I thought. Couple of things: When the speedometer hits 140, the numbers stop going up, but the bike is still pulling/speeding up. Gonna need the GPS, I guess, is that normal; And...Two of the guys asked me if it was brand new, how many miles, etc..., because I was "Riding" the bike. Now, they were thinking about the break in...I have been a hotrod guy for years. I have had bikes and cars...you break it in, like you are going to drive it, PERIOD. That "break in miles" BS is for the factory. Yeah, alter your rpms to help the rings. I alter them, from idle to rev-limiter... It has seen 12K rpms several times within it's short 150ish mile life.

For those of you who are going to start flaming: I did know a guy who did not break in a inline-4 Suzuki, but he revved it at start up, cold, EVERYtime and did not let it get up to temp, before rolling back and staying in it. That bike stayed skint back from on to off everytime he rode. The bike lasted him about a year and a half then sounded like it was hurt. He also rarely changed the oil.

What's yall's riding temp. average? At 50-60, in top gear I'm about 180-190 and stopped in traffice the fans cut on at 223 and cool it down to about 207ish. I would say with my Florida weather I average between 180 and 210 depending on traffic. Is that normal? It has been pretty hot here, upper 80's and high humidity.
