Hmm!! Looks bloody ugly. Not in a good (Speed Triple) way. Will reserve judgment until i actually see one in the flesh. Despite claims of a sportsbike, it seems to be aimed more at the touring brigade. Not sure about pillion accommodation either.

Interesting that the first video indicates the valvetrain is Unicam.....or for those of who can remember what it was called in the 70's - SOHC. I wonder what the reasoning was for going from dual camshafts to a single cam.

honda has been toying with the uni cam engine since 02 on the crf450r it has pruvin to be durable and one cam weighs less than two . the differance between sohc and uni-cam is on a uni-cam engine the cam itself operates the intake valves and uses rockers the operate exh valves where a sohc uses rockers for all valves , it also helps cetralize mass by offseting the cams to the center of the engine

I understand the history of the sohc engine and Honda has been playing with it long before 2002 and the CR450F. Since my earlier post, I have gone back through a couple engine design reference books I have laying around and I believe I now understand why they have chosen sohc over the dohc setup. Back to the future.
