:-/Does anyone have an aftermarket seat installed on a 2002-2003? If so what brand and how does it feel and how does it fit? My lack of posterior makes for an uncomfortable extended trip.

dave ;DI got the Sargeant seat. Just got back from a 2300 mile trip...the seat was very comfortable. looks great and the cowl fits well.

I have the Corbin with backrest for passenger. I do like it quite a bit. And my passenger believes it is much more comfortable too.

I've seen many positive comments about the Sargent also. And, it sure does look good. I think you would be good with either saddle.

  4. I have a Corbin on my '03. It is a great improvement over stock. It is alot more firmer than stock plus the saddle is leather. It is much more comfortable on long rides than stock. At first the fit on my bike was tight but after the rubber bumpers on the seat's underside broke in the fit was perfect. -Jason.

From the link above from Corbin:

"We even offer a finishing plate with a Carbon Fiber look for a totally integrated design."

Would the "finishing plate" be the red piece over where the additional rider would sit for those of us not wanting the longer seat and backrest?

I believe that statement is referring to the back of the passenger backrest. The back of the backrest can be in carbon fiber or painted (i.e. Honda Red)

I ended up purchasing a Sargent and absolutely love it!! Ten times better than the stock piece of plywood.
