Fuel filter???

I see everyone kinda bashing a fuel filter. I have a Factory Honda filter on my bike, and runs fine. Why shouldn't I be running one. I have had a couple of race ready 4-Wheeler and always ran a filter on them, and they kicked a$$. So what gives?

 

What model year?

If its a 1990 to present they ALL have fuel filters.

I think the problem is when a fuel pump is not used. Mine would run out of fuel in the carbs with the filter in there. I should put it back in place now that I have the pump hooked up again...

Realy no one Not tryin to be a jerk, I just see everyone bashing a filter, but for what reason? I know their going to say they are to restrictived, but I bought the filter for the bike, it cost me like $30.

 

I just know that when I had the pump out of the line on MY bike, the filter would not let enough fuel flow. It woul donly be a problem after the bike ran for some time, os it may just need to have more pressure to prevent vapor lock. Since I put the pump back in the line, I haven't put the filter back on. I should do so though....

 

Now that I think about it, the problem if probably the length of the fuel line, and the routing of it. If you were to make sure it doesn't run back behind the side cover, then back to the engine, and make it more direct, I would think it would be much better.
