    Hello,

I am going on Saturday to look at a number of used (very low mileage) VFRs, 2 x 2002 and 2 x 2003.

Apart from all the things I would look for on any used bike (or vehicle) are there any model specific weaknesses or wear factors that I should be looking for? I am going to get any finalist checked out at a trusted shop anyway, but I am looking for any hints that can help me narrow the field a bit.

i am comfortable with the used prices structure up here, and the value of the accessories (two have the Hondaline luggage), so it is really just any further hints.

    Thanks in advance.

    John

There should be nothing wrong. The Hondas are so well built nothing should be falling off. If there's oil leaking, leaky fork seals or anything then they beat the hell out of thier bike.

I don't think there's really anything about the VFR that stands out that would need to be looked at.

    pm_wizard,

Check an earlier post titled "Current recalls for 2002 vfr? Where to find them?
    http://vfrworld.com/forums/sixth-ge...current-recalls-2002-vfr-where-find-them.html

On certain 2002 models (non abs) there was a subframe issue recall, and a product update with the alternater.

I was looking at a 2002 and just took the VIN to the local Honda dealer and the looked up and verified these items were taken care of.

    Hope this helpsl
    Mike

Don't ever buy a used bike unless you can verify it's maintenance history OR... are capable of kicking the sh$t out of the seller/previous owner.

    KC-10 FE out...
