Recently picked up a '96 (4th Gen) VFR750 and I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the comfort level. My biggest complaint is that I feel like my cajones are constantly getting smashed into the tank! I have to put in a considerable amount of effort to keep my crotch off of the tank. It's especially bad when braking. I noticed that the previous owner added the spacer-type risers (Gen-Mar?). In order to install them, it look like he had to pull the forks up higher in the yolk. So the net effect of adding the risers is to lower the seat (and slope it forward more) rather than actually rising the bars. Did he do something wrong?

So far, I've added Tech Specs grips to the sides of the tank to give my thighs something to grab onto. I've converted to the Buell footpegs to bring my feet down a bit. Not sure what my next step should be.

I got a set of Hawk GT bars to replace the stock bars / riser configuration. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble installing them since they interfere with the windscreen big time. I may just go back to the stock bar configuration for the time being. Is this something that the Corbin seat would help with (I noticed Sargent doesn't make a seat for the Gen 4)? Does anyone have any good ideas on a seat cover that would offer a bit more grip? I've also thought about gaining a ton of weight so that my belly rests on the tank. That might take some time though.

Please help before I ruin any hopes of reproducing!!!!

IMO go back to the stock bars and push the forks back down where they belong... can't help you any more than that......maybe a lift and separate jock strap.....

You might call Sargent to see if they do in fact make a seat for your motorcycle. If so, order the seat over the phone (get the person's name you're speaking with) and tell them that you want lots of extra foam added to the HORN area of the saddle, in order to better prevent your butt and balls from sliding forward onto the tank.

I have a Sargent seat that I custom ordered as described above, and I love it. However, keep in mind that custom ordering the seat in this way means that you can't return it for a refund if you don't like it. On the other hand, if you feel the seat is an improvement but you need more horn padding, they will accept it and add more if possible. Check with them beforehand though.

The Corbin on my 5th gen solved this issue, I couldn't stand the stock seat for the exact same problem you have.

I had that exact same problem with the seats on both my old '97 VFR750 and my current '03 VFR800. My twig and berries were aching. I put Corbin seats on both bikes, problem solved.

I have a Corbin on my '96 but on my '04 I wanted to try a less expensive option. Here is my '04 seat after the local upholstery shop built up the front of the seat to eliminate the downward slope that is inherent in oem sportrbike seats. No more "Death Valley" now and cost was only around a $100. Works great and is much more comfortable. My $.02
