Howdy..I have an 86 750 with 13,500 miles on it.
It worked fine a couple years ago when I took it off the road to repair a dented tank and busted fairings. Now I'm starting to get ready to reassemble it. I have not put all the parts back on yet but tried to crank it and get no noise or action. I can get dash lights and the neutral light but nothing else.
Checking backwards..is there a way to test/jump crank the starter?
Any other suggestions. I don't have a battery yet so I'm using a spare car battery or battery charger for juice.
    Thanks
    John

Clutch resevoir is dry. Clutch does not disengage.
Engine will rotate in high gear when you push bike but can't get any ummph to do rolling pop test because can't disengage clutch therfore I have 2 plugs removed to reduce compression.
Main fuse..Green is ok. are there other fuses and if so where are they located.
Unfortunatly I don't have a manual which does not help.
    Your help is much appreciated!!

Good project worthy of your time !!

To get the starter motor running if the button doesn't work use a screwdriver or pliers to jump across the two large terminals on top of the starter relay.....after making sure the trans is in neutral.

Seems like your the only one repling but know your stuff. The clutch is mush and won't disengage but I can't seem to bleed it out.
What is the correct proceedure?? I open the bleed screw and pump the handle down but can.t get any appreciable fluid to flow/pump throug. The resevoir fluid level was way down when I opened it up.

Also, I have no service manual and the owner manual is useless junk, What is the second fuse from the left on the dash..it is a 10AMP and is blown.

I have an old car battery and tried to jump the starter. I get a very small movement in the starter . I think I need more juice.

    Bleeding

Pinch the line just below master cylinder with pliers (just enogh to close it off and not damage) and pump until fluid get to slave cylinder and then bleed normally. Second fuse is fan.Did you change out the clutch cover?
