I have searched the forums and have not been able to find a good consensus on tire pressure. I am running the Pilot Roads. Rear tire says 42psi, service manual says 42psi but I thought I have heard people say running in the 36psi range was better. Front is supposed to be 36 but I have heard 33psi. Any thoughts?

I run both tires around 32-35 psi and haven't had any problems. They stick well, wear pretty good, and that's about all I ask from my tires. Except I ask them to sing the star-spangled banner but none of them comply... cheap ass tire companies...

    IMHO
36/42 per the stock rubber recommendation or 4 psi below the sidewall max load number is your best starting point.
I have had the most confidence here and have had limited cupping, regardless of tire brand and age. I believe 33 psi on the front under hard braking may get you in trouble with cupping/scalloping, but I have no data so grains of salt are required.

Wow Reg! 32 in the back! That's when things start feeling not-quite-right for me. But, hell, you may be warming up quicker than me out there in Cali, not to mention I am 6'1" and 218 lb on a heavier 1995.

Looks like dsirl is going to have a hard time with a consensus the way this thread has started!

Well, I rode about 200 miles today with 35/38 front/rear (or as well as I could tell with my tire pressure gauge). Felt pretty good; no slippage but I ran into some traffic in my favorite twisties so I didn't get to really wring it out.

Funny, how I seem to trust the people on this forum more than Honda. Hmmm . . .

I run 36/42 just fine. But you can also check the tire manufacturers website, some have PSI recomendations for their tires specific to models. As does Bridgestone on the BT020 that I run with. I that case they have the same recomendation as Honda, but they don't always.
Start from there and play around with it a little. Up or lower the PSI a little, one tire at a time, do you like what it feels like? Play around with the PSI right around that #. Or do you hate it? then go the other way.

It really only matters what you think/feel; not what any of us do. Your weight, suspension settings, road conditions, weather, will all affect what works best as a tire pressure for you. Start with stock, then go from there.
