Hey Everyone - First Post here.

Just picked up 1994 Vfr750 that had been sitting 7 years.

I am sure I will be checking in here quite a bit for advice and such.

This is my fourth project bike...oddly enough my first was an 88 vfr750 that I did back in 1991.

Really wish we would have had forums back then. My last car project would have been impossible without it. 1983 Porsche 944. Had a few thousand posts on PelicanParts forum.....now you guys are cursed with me. j/k

    Looking forward to the journey.

btw - just pulled the fairings today and found that an animal next the size of my head was between the V.....urine, feces and all. Nice.

Being on here with the work I had to do on the wifes 92 it's been great. Lots of good advice, wisom, and stupid humor. Good luck with the build.

Pics will follow. I am pretty big on doing right-ups to help others with lots of pics...kinda my way of giving back. Following forum etiquette of course by starting new threads etc.

No pics of the nest! The V was totally filled and unfortunatly it at many of the wires..like the three yellow going threw the V. A nice bite into a plug wire. Poop filled Plug hole (half of the cap was eaten). a nibble on the harness etc.

No biggy. I am up for it.

BTW - I do these projects trying to keep a strict budget. Like the grassroots motorsports $2000 challenges. I set a budget and trade/sell/or do myself...whatever it takes to keep it. Meet alot of good people, find good resources, learn alot and challenge yourself. As of right now, the budget is $1600...we shall see.

I think it coulda been a squirrel !!!!!!! Photos, please !

Watch out for half-bitten wires. I can identify if you find bitemarks or "scat."

Locate a sample of fur: squirrel fur has 3 distinct colors !!! Each hair of a grey squirrel is colored red/white/grey !!! Florida is blessed with an abundance of grey squirrels.

    How exciting !!

Never thought of it that way but I suppose it is exciting. One of the best thing about finished projects is the story they tell.
Mine started with a squirrel...most likely...although rats and possums are abundant done here as well.
Tomorrow afternoon is the big cleanup/wiring harness replacement. Will check for fur.

Worst wire is alternator through the V..2 yellow wires to be exact that did not come with my replacement harness. I am going to do a repair job on them... a very careful repair job as they are important.

Promise to take lots of pics.

    Yes,
Pretty good shape for a start. Not even washed yet.

My thought is that is spent the last 7 years in a storage shed.

The engine area is what needs the cosmetics. Urine took off some paint so a little more scrubbing/ brushing and paint work is required than I expected. The rest is easy.

I may instal the wiring harness etc put fuel in and give it a few turns just to see if she starts up.......big maybe.
