whats a good rpm to coast at

    I am wondering for a vf500 what a good rpm is to keep a steady speed at?

    um well mine likes to criuse 90 or so but at that speed i had to relocate the licnse plate to keep it from getting chewed up when the wind would bend it up. And there is also the cop thing to worry about they tend to be alil mad when you are doing double the limit etc. Just drive the speed limit if the bike is running right it has enough torque to ride in most any gear sensibly.

    19k great steady rpm.. make sure you use slick50 for all hi rpm revs...

    On the Highways here in Canada I tend to cruise around 120km/h (75MPH) and at that speed...with the bike in 6th I'm at 6,500rpm.

    When I was on my road trip I found I was getting GREAT fuel economy when I was cruising around at around 4,000-5,500rpm

    I personally don't like to have my bike reving too high cause of all the "My VF500 dropped a valve/Blew up on the Hwy." stories.

    Sometimes I feel like I'm the only Rider who doesn't cruise around town in the lowest gear possible. :rolleyes:
